The New Patriotic?? Party??? (NPP) Member of Parliament for Dome/Kwabenya,?? Lawyer. Sarah Adwoa Safo has advised teachers and parents to spend more time on children in their formative years so as to mold them into what they envisage them to be in future.
Adwoa safo noted that parents and teachers in whose custody children spend more time must endeavor to train the children the way they should grow so that they will not depart from it when they grow.
Lawyer Adwoa Safo made these remarks when she visited about four schools within her constituency to commemorate ?my first day at school?, a day set aside to usher toddler?s first entry into formal school.
Adwoa Safo who made the visit in the company of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ga East, Mr. Kwao Sackey, told the teachers and few parents who had brought their wards to school for the first time to spend more time on the children and instill in them disciplines that will mold them to become responsible and useful citizens of the state.
She pointed out that children in their formative years are so fragile and prone to all manner of social pollution, depending on the kind of upbringing they get in their formative age added that if special care is not taken and the appropriate steps are not taken to mold those toddlers to acceptable societal standards, it will be near impossible to change certain undesirable attitudes when they are out and beyond their formative ages.
The Dome /Kwabenya legislator also advised the pupils to take their academic work seriously and urged them to set high standards for themselves and aspire to take leadership positions in their respective career paths.
She also cautioned the pupils against waywardness and asked them to pay heed to the directives of their teachers and parents.
The visit took her to four community based schools within the constituency, the Atomic D/A schools, Taifa Community Schools at Taifa, Icodec Islamic school at Dome and Atomic Hills Demonstration school also at Dome.
The Member of Parliament who believes in the education for all project, has made an avowed promise to do all she can to reduce the burden on parents by taking care of their wards in school.
Lawyer Safo in collaboration with a U.S. based Ghanaian philanthropist, Mr. Daniel Boakye Mensah, donated an assortment of books from archaeology to zoology worth about 15 thousand Ghana Cedis and distributed them among the four schools.
