Sleep All Night Without Texting

sleep texting

Everyone loves getting a ?good night? text from their sweetie, but if you also love getting a good night?s sleep, stop at just that one message. Or better yet, say good night when you?re still up brushing your teeth. Or say it at dinner.

According to a new study published in the journal Psychology of Popular Media Culture, sending and receiving too many text messages close to bedtime can cause you to sleep poorly. The study?s authors surveyed college students and found that those who texted late at night slept more poorly than those who turned into evening Luddites, like all the sleep experts tell you to.

When we sleep near our phones we feel pressure to reply to messages. The authors recommended solutions that should seem obvious but apparently aren?t, because nobody uses them. For instance, just turn your phone off. [Source]
