The Municipal Coordinating Director for Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Mr.Abdul Rahman said an amount of Ghc43, 795.00 was used to cater for the items.

He said one of the most important responsibilities of government was the provision of social intervention programmes and projects that enhanced the lives of the needy and vulnerable in the society.

“This goes a long way to alleviate the suffering such vulnerable people endure and reduce the burden on their immediate families.

Mr Rahman said the government had numerous support schemes in place to provide sources of livelihoods for PWDs.
He stated that PWDs were not less human and so must be treated with respect and love, “Disability is not inability”, rather such persons are special in their own way.

The Chairman of the Federation of PWDs, Mr. Isaac Kyere on his part commanded the government for the support and appealed for the implementation of the Disability law.

He said after so many years of the passage of the Disability law people still put up structures that were not disability friendly thereby making it difficult for them to access such structures.
Mr Kyere advised his colleagues to maintain the items given them.
