Swaziland coaches association chairman Josiah ?Digger? Dlamini is the new Sihlangu interim manager.
He replaces the resigned squad manager Sandile ?Beyond 2000? Zwane, albeit on a temporary basis.
Dlamini will be assisted by National Referees Association of Swaziland (NRAS) chairman Elphas Ngcamphalala and any other ?free? executive member of the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS).
The latest development transpired during the NFAS executive meeting held at the Sigwaca House on Tuesday night.
The NFAS executive decided against appointing Zwane?s replacement on a fulltime basis after noting that their term of office was almost over.
?It would have been so unfair to the new executive that is going to take over at the end of June to find someone permanently appointed the squad?s manager, yet we have about a month and a few days left in office,? a source at the FA Executive Committee said..
?It was felt that we should not appoint someone permanently on the position because of such reasons, hence Digger was asked to hold fort temporarily. He will be assisted by Ngcamphalala (Elphas) and any other executive member of the association who will be free.
?That was the decision. It will not only be the two gentlemen?s responsibility but each of the executive members will help out when there is a need.?
NFAS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu confirmed the latest developments this morning.
?It is only on a temporary basis. Otherwise the search is still on for Sihlangu manager and assistant coach,? Mngomezulu said.
Zwane resigned from the squad citing unworkable conditions, alleging that he was not recognised but only treated as a puppet, something he said he could not stand.
