Sierra Leone pilgrims return from pilgrimage

All 800 pilgrims that left for the pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca returned home on October 11, the Sierra Leone Hajj committee said on Wednesday.

According to the Secretariat of the Commission, all the pilgrims returned home safely with no hitch.

At a courtesy call on the President at State House Wednesday, President Ernest Bai Koroma urged all the pilgrims to serve as role models so that other Muslims will emulate their examples to undertake the pilgrimage.

He reminded his audience that “Islam is a religion of peace, brotherhood, knowledge and mercy” and he hoped the pilgrims will inculcate the conditions of the hajj for them to realize the benefits and blessings of the hajj.

President Koroma said that Sierra Leone is a resilient country and as such can “overcome any challenge, be it political, social or economic as was manifested during the Ebola crisis in the country. Enditem
