It is unbelievable, but it is true. The Managing Director or call him the Chief Executive Officer of the Securities Discount House is on the run from the law.
According to Mr. Abdulai Mohammed, Senior Bailiff of the High Court at Cocoa Affairs, always he is told the boss is not in.
In an exclusive interview with this paper, Mr. Mohammed said he was told that the Managing Director of SDC was called Peter K Addo, but when contempt processes were made ready in his name, the staff at SDC told the bailiff that there was no such officer at SDC called Peter K Addo.
According to the senior bailiff Mr. Abdulai Mohammed, checks on the about SDC revealed that the head of SDC was called Mr. Matheus Dorfe, but again when the papers for contempt were prepared in that name, Mr. Mohammed again was told there was such a person at SDC but he seems permanently unavailable.
The whole problem is that SDC took the documents of title to a property and auctioned same for default in payment of a facility.
SDC even after the sale continued receiving payment for the facility and so the High Court presided over by then Justice Felicity Amoah set aside the judicial sale.
All efforts by the one who bought the house on judicial sale to restore the sale failed before His Lordship Mr. Justice Obimpeh at High Court 13 and there was no appeal.
Now Mr. Justice Asante of High Court 13 has granted a prayer by Lawyer Naomi Nelson Cofie that the SDC must restore the original documents of title to the owner, Alice Anamal, but six months on, SDC has refused to comply with the orders.
Even though SDC?s lawyers are saying that the documents of title are with the purchaser, informed sources ?at SDC say that SDC has been offering the house for sale to other interested buyers, except that due diligence from SDC lawyers always discourage sale.
Meanwhile, Alice Anamal?s lawyers, Nkrabeah and Associates are seeking to attach SDC boss for contempt of Court and their biggest problem is service of the contempt papers.
