A born again Christian who was worshiping at a particular church started to back track again and this time some elder?s of the church put up efforts to keep him in the lord?s house.
As an effort to assist him overcome whatever ills that were making him stay away from the church, these elders kept on paying him visits every fortnight to share the word of God with him to keep him strong in the lord.
Upon one of the usual visits, this slacker was asked the simple question that any other person will ask,? Brother what is actually keeping you from coming to join us to worship the lord??
This time, the brother did not hide his feelings from the team of visitors as he laid it bare to them, ?npeninfuo, saa nkekemu no a wonkekamu wo srohono menteme kuwraa? to wit it has been very difficult for me to bear with the roaring?s from the pulpit.
What was he talking about one of the team members asked? Oh yeah he was referring to the deafening shouting?s of some of our preachers who mounts the pulpit to deliver sermons on Sundays other member observed.
Oh so you have observed this and decided not to raise it at council level meeting for us to collectively find a solution to it to keep our members intact only to allow it to continue and scatter most of them? Another member tried to lay blame.
Instead of taking note of the complain and assure this member that a solution was going to be find to the problem so he can enjoy worshiping the lord, team members nearly allowed this to generate into a fisticuff which was bad.
That one side, can you imagine the number of Christians who are backtracking everyday because of improper handling of issues in the house of the lord by ministers of God and council leaders?
You will be shocked if a survey is conduct to reveal the number of people who are lacking from the word of God just because they are not properly delivered and so continues to leave the house of the lord hungry and thirsty for the word of God.
What has become a common practice these days are the exhibition of self ego, gossip preaching, and demonstration of power over others which are all hypocritical and does not serve any purpose in the house of the lord.
In some churches sanctuary, if a preacher mounts the pulpit and does not incessantly shout during his sermon to create deafening ears, he is described as weak and for that matter does not possess any power.
So you see some of them shouting as they make their bodies stiff to proof of power in them, run from one end to the other, descending and ascending pulpits, jumping harvazadly on podiums with their cassocks flying high and sweats streaming roughly on their faces.
But in all these they end up giving nothing to the congregation rather than confusion in the mind because what they said nobody grasped with what was delivered.
When telling members of a church to be humbled like how Jesus was humbled from birth till he died on the cross and even resurrected and ascended to heaven, it is not by roaring from the pulpit,? you guys have to be humble, you have to be humble in order for you to have longer days ahead? pointing a finger into the eyes of a particular member tagged as a stubborn.
Instead you define humility; demonstrate how Jesus brought it to bear in his life by being obedient to his parents who in turn raised him according to the word of God and him also showing us how to be humbled by washing the feet of his disciples and even following the instructions of God the father till the end.
If you ask the congregation to show loving kindness to children, it is not by shouting,? you have to love the children, you do not have to beat them? pointing accusing finger at a member you know once disciplined a child for going nut.
Rather, you define love and how it works in the life of children by demonstrating how Jesus rebuked his disciples who tried to prevent the women from bringing the children to him but instead received them on his laps and blessed them by praying for them.
People come to church on Sundays to listen to the word of God in order to imbibe them in their lives to bear fruits. Some come to church because they are suffering from a special ailment that only the word of God can heal them.
Others are going through strange conditions that only the word of God can change those conditions. Someone is being removed or facing a deportation order from a country and it is only the word of God that can put smiles on his face.
Some parents are suffering from infertility, lack of money, joblessness, difficulty in raising their kids and therefore putting their trust in the lord to perform miracles in their life for them to go and bear witness so have come to listen to word.
Therefore with all these problems seeking a solution in the house of the lord and a preacher decides to goHollywoodon the podium by jumping and flying his cassock or screaming like a boxer who has been just declared a winner it does not serve any good.
Looking at all the signs that keep showing in our present world everything points to the fact that it won?t take too long for the ruler of this great universe to appear for judgment.
All things that are appearing seem super natural for one to simply brush them away by saying oh they are natural. This is not the time to repeat the old bible stories. It is the time research the bible for the prophecies as they keep on appearing every day and prepares ourselves to meet the savior any moment the trumpet sounds.
Let us use our pulpits to correct people, and not forHollywoodshow off styles.
There are too much roaring?s from the pulpit that are scaring people from coming to learn the word of God and we need to watch it.
