The National Sales Manager of rLG Communications Limited Mr Kofi Yirenkyi said rLG in its numerous interventions to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country has instituted an enterprise project aimed at offering back up support to trainees of the ICT module and other individuals who are desirous of making themselves economically viable.
He added that this is an applied ICT business initiative aimed at equipping young Ghanaians with the tools and platform to engage in the sales and after sales services of RLG electronic devices like mobile phone, laptops and among others.
Kofi Yirenkyi indicated that rLG will provide the interested individuals with a well built kiosk to serve as a work station, which by implementing this project RLG is reaffirming its total and unflinching commitment towards job creation for the youth, he finally challenge the beneficiaries to embrace this scheme, avail themselves to it and cause a change to themselves, families and their communities.
He revealed this during the Eastern Regional launch of Rlg enterprise project of youth in the ICT module in Koforidua.
The Eastern Regional Director for GYEEDA Hon. Joshua Attah Mensah in his statement noted that the Region has currently four main RLG centres in the Districts, which includes New Juaben, Asuogyaman, Atiwa and Birem South.
The training is in phases and over thousand beneficiaries have been trained, graduated and setup in the first phase which this particular programme is the second phase.
He added that RLG in collaboration with GYEEDA will be opening new training centers in Yilo krobo, Akuapem north and Afram plains to added to the existing ones, which the agency is undergoing revamping to position itself strategically to tackle youth unemployment in the country, urging all meaningful Ghanaians to support this initiative to eliminate youth unemployment in the country.
Taking her turn the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister Hon. Mavis Ama Frimpong emphasized that the New Juaben Municipal Assembly is receiving about one hundred and fifty of this facilities and the remaining districts will take delivery of theirs in due course, under the GYEEDA program the government is exploring opportunities in agriculture, electricity, mining and among others to create employment and also to address the challenges in those sectors.
She cautioned the beneficiaries? to take good care of the kiosks and use them for the purposes they were intended for, which the proper use of the facilities will lead to sustainable partnership between RLG and the GYEEDA.
