Respect the less-privileged
The Keta Municipal Director of National Commission on Civil Education (NCCE), Godwin Agbenyo has urged Ghanaians to respect and accord persons with disability and the aged in the society the dignity they deserve and value their rights as human beings.
He said describing these persons as useless is an affront to the constitution and the laws of Ghana and therefore called on all citizens to change their attitude towards such people.
The Municipal NCCE boss made the remarks when he addressed students of St. Theresa School for the Handicapped at Abor in the Keta Municipality.
Mr. Agbenyo also advised the students not to bury their God-given talents but work hard to bring them out. He further asked them to be tolerant and law-abiding citizens of Ghana.
In another development, Mr. Agbenyo asked the pupils of Atiteti and Fuveme Junior High Schools, all in the Keta Municipality to take their studies seriously.
Mr. Agbenyo was unhappy with the fact that young school boys and girls leave their books to attend funerals in the night.
He cautioned them against indecent dressing, unruly behavior and urged them to respect the elderly in society, including their parents and teachers.
