The Southern African Development Committee (SADC)’s Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) team will visit Namibia Tuesday next week to monitor and evaluate the country’s migration from analogue to digital.
The team is from the program management office that falls under the SADC Secretariat set up to assist member states with coordination, evaluation, reporting and implementation of the DTT program.
Namibia is one the few countries in the region that are working to meet the June 17, 2015 analogue switch-off deadline.
Already, the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation has switched off its analogue system in the capital Windhoek and the surrounding towns as well as ending its relationship with government of South Africa.
The main objective of the visit is to assess Namibia readiness and progress made in relation to Namibia DTT Implementation Plan.
Namibia information minister Joel Kaapanda will meet and brief the SADC team in Windhoek Tuesday before they embark on their mission that ends on Wednesday.? Enditem
