American actor Alan Ritchson, best known for his lead role in the Prime Video series Reacher, is at the centre of a police investigation after footage emerged on Sunday showing him in a physical confrontation with a neighbour at his home in Brentwood, Tennessee.
The incident, which reportedly took place around noon on Sunday, 22 March 2026, involved Ritchson and his neighbour, Ronnie Taylor, and was captured on video that has since circulated widely online. Two children, reported to be the actor’s sons, were present on motorbikes nearby during the altercation.
According to Taylor’s account reported by entertainment outlet TMZ, the dispute began the previous day when Ritchson allegedly rode his green Kawasaki dirt bike through the residential neighbourhood at excessive speed, revving his engine and disturbing the peace. Taylor said he confronted the actor on Sunday when he rode through again, and that the exchange turned violent, leaving him with bruising and swelling to his face. He told police that Ritchson struck him multiple times and kicked him while he was on the ground. Taylor said he did not seek hospital treatment but filed a police report.
Sources close to Ritchson offered a sharply different version of events. They told TMZ that Taylor ran aggressively into the street to block the actor’s path, pushing him off his motorcycle twice and causing cuts, bruises, and a minor finger injury. According to these sources, Ritchson attempted to leave the scene rather than engage, but was shoved to the ground a second time before the confrontation escalated.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to multiple outlets that an investigation is underway. No arrests have been made. Ritchson has not publicly commented on the incident, and his representatives had not responded to press requests as of Monday.
Ritchson has played the title role of Jack Reacher on Prime Video since 2022. The show’s fourth season was filmed in Philadelphia in mid-2025.
