Rapper SkyBlew?s New Single, Partnership with Mega Ran?s Label
After grinding on the underground, turning heads with impressive projects and videos, Chapel Hill Hip-Hop artist SkyBlew (skyblew1.bandcamp.com) will be releasing his next album ?SkyBlew?s UNModern Life? on Random (aka Mega Ran)?s label/production company, RandomBeats, LLC.
Ran is more than enthusiastic about the new project.
?I?ve been watching ?Sky for a long time, and I think bringing him on tour last spring, I noticed that he had so many tools in place to be a great artist – I just want to offer that helping hand or push that I never had coming up. SkyBlew leaked the first track from the project, a touching tune called ?The Ballad of Pigeon Man,? with D&D Sluggers, this week:
The song is inspired by the 90’s Nickelodeon cartoon “Hey Arnold??which?was one of the most emotionally driven episodes from any cartoon.
“SkyBlew’s UNmodern Life” will be released in late September via Random aka Mega Ran’s RandomBeats Productions label. The album’s theme is a combination of classic cartoons like Hey Arnold, Rocket Power, Anime & Video Games. SkyBlew explains what the album will and won?t be.
“These won’t just be IN YOUR FACE reference, reference, name drop songs, these are well put-together concepts, so that people who don’t even know about these cartoons, video games & anime can still relate to them?. No album out will sound like it!”
