Accra, Jan. 16, GNA ? Ghana?s Team Doctor, Baba Adamu, has water down on injury concerns in the Black Stars, four days ahead of the squad?s Group B opener with DR Congo, at the Africa Cup of Nations slated for South Africa.
Dr. Baba has allayed concerns that quartet, Isaac Vorsah, Rabiu Mohammed, Richard Boakye-Yiadom and Anthony Annan may not be able to race ahead of time, having picked up various injuries during the team?s preparatory tour in Abu Dhabi.
?The injury situation of my team is not too bad. Vorsah took a knock on his right thigh, Annan had a twist on his left ankle joint, Rabiu picked a knock on his thigh as well while Boakye-Yiadom sprained his right ankle joint at training.?
The Doctor was convinced the four will be fit well in time before Ghana begin the search for a fifth Nations Cup glory at the competition that spans January 19-February 10.
?We are working around the clock; all of them should be back on the field with their colleagues by Thursday, and all set for selection by Sunday, when the first game is played.?
While Vorsah got injured during warm up to the Ghana friendly game with Tunisia, Annan was pulled out of the game against Egypt on a precautionary grounds after landing awkwardly from a challenge.
Mohammed also picked his injury deep into the first half of that 4-2 win over Tunisia, with teenager, Boakye-Yiadom forced to walkout of training with a thigh strain on Wednesday.
Ghana is housed in Group B alongside D.R Congo, Mali and Niger.
