He said academic excellence therefore demanded quality teaching through the use of appropriate teaching aids.

Mr. Cobbina stated this in a speech read on his behalf by Rt. Rev. Daniel Kofi Mensa Stephens, Bishop of Evangelical Methodist Church of Christ at a forum to mark the celebration of the sixth education day of stakeholders in education of the children in Senya Beraku.

The Day on the theme, ?Quality Affordable Education and Proper Heath Care – The Requisite Tools for Good Nation Building? was to assess the academic standard of the children in the area and the way forward.

According to the Director, academic excellence required that parents played their respective roles by providing the necessities that will motivate the children to learn.

Mr. Cobbina said quality affordable education had to do with the provision of the necessary resources to produce a committed and competent person who will be useful to the society.

He said to achieve this; there was the need for human and financial resources to ensure quality education delivery.

?The kind of education a nation has, determines the kind of human resources it has?.

The Director said good management practices that promote efficiency in every sector and aspect of the life of the school matters most in achieving academic excellence and expressed the believe that schools in the communities had gone through many challenges just as the country has in the delivery of quality education to the people.

He therefore commended the stakeholders in the town for setting aside a day annually to discuss education issues and urged them to contribute their quota to supplement what the government provided, so that the quality education needed in the country could be achieved.

The Head Master of Senya Senior High School (SHS), Mr. Eric Nana Mensah, appealed to the parents to encourage their wards to attend school regularly because frequently absenting themselves from classes led to poor academic performances.

He said they should play counselor role to their wards in other to eschew all negative tendencies such as disrespect to the elderly, truancy, indulging in drug, indecent dressing, and cyber fraud and encourage them to concentrate on their books to enable them pass their examinations.

He added that if the habit of self-imposed discipline was inculcated in the children with the teachers to monitor the activities of their children, will go a long way to help protect the children from all negative tendencies that affected their education.
