The Pentecost University College (PUC), a private university situated at Sowutuom in the Greater Accra Region, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), in the United States of America to guide PUC develop programmes in the sciences, engineering and mathematics.
The Rector of PUC, Rev. Dr. Peter Ohene Kyei and the President of SVSU, Eric Gilbertson, signed the agreement christened ?institutional mentorship relationship? when the former participated in the recent graduation ceremony of SVSU held in Michigan in the USA.
Under the agreement, the PUC?s Faculty of Engineering, Science and Computing would be mentored by SVSU?s College of Science, Engineering and Technology, starting with programmes such as Applied Mathematics and Computer Systems.
Additionally, staff and students of both universities would be offered the opportunity to take part in exchange and joint research projects in various academic disciplines such as biology, chemistry, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering and physics.
In October 2011, the two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two institutions.
