Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are reportedly considering relocating to the United States as the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal surrounding her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, continues to intensify, though sources close to the couple have pushed back on the more alarming reports.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple may be eyeing a move abroad as a way to escape the intense media pressure building in the United Kingdom. “The feeling is that if they stay in the UK they will just be sitting ducks because the Andrew and Sarah problem isn’t going to go away,” a source told the outlet.

Mozzi, 42, the founder and chief executive of interior design and property development firm Banda, already conducts significant business in the United States and has been travelling frequently between the UK and cities including Miami and Los Angeles in recent months. Sources say Mozzi knows his brand is highly marketable in the American market, and that Beatrice is open to a change of pace if it means stabilising their future.

The speculation over a possible move has arrived alongside separate reports of strain in the couple’s marriage, prompted largely by a Mail on Sunday report published on March 22 suggesting there was a growing “distance” between the pair, with Mozzi absorbed in work and travel at a time when Beatrice needed support. However, a source close to the couple told People magazine that any talk of marital difficulties is “complete nonsense.”

The couple has spent considerable time apart throughout 2026, fuelling public speculation about whether the separation reflects a genuine crisis or a deliberate strategy to protect Mozzi’s business interests from reputational damage linked to the York family scandal.

The broader context is stark. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on 19 February 2026, a development that royal experts say deeply shook both Beatrice and her younger sister Princess Eugenie. The two sisters were recently seen in public together for the first time since Andrew was stripped of his titles, with a lip reader hired by the Daily Mail reporting that Beatrice told Eugenie: “We’re in this together, don’t forget that” and “it’s going to get harder.”

Eugenie has already left the United Kingdom and has settled in Portugal with her husband since 2022. Both sisters are said to be in contact with their cousin Prince Harry, who has offered advice on building a life outside Britain.

Sarah Ferguson, mother of both princesses, has also faced mounting pressure, including the removal of an honorary title following scrutiny of her past association with Epstein. Reports suggest she too may seek to spend more time abroad.

Beatrice, 37, and Mozzi share two daughters, Sienna, aged four, and Athena, aged one. No formal announcement on any relocation has been made by the couple.
