Preview: Heat host Wizards

The Heat are getting another scheduling break as the Washington Wizards come to visit. The Heat have been at home for a few days, while Washington is coming in on a back-to-back. The Heat just beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, who were also on a B2B.

But enough of that, there’s a game to be played on Monday night and it’s going to be another Miami Heat adventure inside the AmericanAirlines Arena.

GAME PREVIEW

Both John Wall and Bradley Beal played a solid 40 minutes in last night’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Surprisingly, the Wizards have struggled so far this season. A team with so much promise from last year, but they have gotten off to a rough start. As you can see from the injury report, it’s not pretty right now. There are a lot of missing bodies, and it’s causing problems, especially up front.

For the Heat, the biggest concern will be the back court. Wall will be a tough cover for Goran Dragic. He will match up with his size, but Wall’s speed could be an issue. Wall was hurt late in the last game and didn’t return. He made the trip to Miami but has been walking with a limp. If he doesn’t play, the Heat will have a huge advantage. Beal on the other hand, will make Dwyane Wade run a lot, and that’s always concerning.

However, with Ryan Hollins slated to start with all the injuries, Hassan Whiteside should have a clear advantage up front as well as Chris Bosh. The Heat need to take advantage here whenever they can.

I expect this to still be a competitive game despite the fact that the Wizards are on a B2B and banged up. They can hit threes and score with anyone. The Heat will need to be on their game.
