The VIP Wing of the Accra Sports Stadium is filled with a lot of euphoria as the maiden national convention of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) is currently underway.
The entire convention ground is painted with PPP paraphernalia. Many of the PPP members who have thronged the convention grounds are clad in PPP colours amid chanting and dancing to PPP songs.
And these include the young, women and the aged.
Heavily represented at the convention are the youth who are all excited about the ideals of the PPP.
The PPP equally has in its fold a lot of women and the old.
PPP officials who spoke to the Ghanaianjournal.com contend that this has been made possible because many of the people who have joined the party want something different from the NPP and the NDC, which according to them, have both failed to improve the quality of life of Ghanaians.
The arrival of Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the sole presidential candidate of the PPP, was characterized by a lot of excitement. His PPP 1 car was completely besieged as his security detail had a hectic time controlling the enthusiastic PPP members who wanted to catch a glimpse of Dr. Nduom.
