The Ghana Police Service has arrested four suspects in connection with the brutal murder of Sain Devendra Kumar, an Indian national found dead with multiple stab wounds in the boot of his vehicle at the outskirts of Sabin Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region on April 26, 2026.
Speaking to the media at the Police Headquarters today, the Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Police Service ACP Grace Ansah Akrofi, stated that the latest arrests, carried out on April 29 and 30, 2026, following sustained intelligence operations in Kumasi, bring the total number of persons in custody to four. The suspects are Akum Kojo Junior, Osman Moro alias Thiago, aged 20, Moro Sule alias Moro Aboboyaa, and John Adoko alias Carter.
According to ACP Ansah Akrofi, Suspect Akum Kojo Junior admitted to the murder and revealed that on April 24, 2026 — two days before the body was discovered — he visited the deceased’s workplace and, with the assistance of Moro Sule, disconnected and replaced the CCTV camera server to cover their tracks. He subsequently concealed the CCTV items at Daban New Site in Kumasi. Acting on his disclosure, the Police retrieved the CCTV server from that location.
Furthermore, ACP Ansah Akrofi, disclosed that Kojo Junior further admitted to taking possession of the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max and Tecno mobile phones, subsequently handing the iPhone to Osman Moro at Kaase and the Tecno phone to Moro Sule.
According to the statement, the Police proceeded to Kaase where Osman Moro alias Thiago was arrested. He led investigators to a nearby bush where the iPhone 17 Pro Max, wrapped in a brown envelope and fresh leaves, was recovered from a hole he had dug in the ground.
Investigations were extended to Aprabong near Dompoase, a suburb of Kumasi, where Moro Sule was arrested and the Tecno mobile phone retrieved from him.
Suspect John Adoko alias Carter admitted to driving the deceased’s vehicle to the location where it was abandoned.
All four suspects are in custody, and exhibits including the CCTV server and both mobile phones have been retained for evidential purposes.
The Police have disclosed that efforts are actively underway to arrest two remaining suspects, Zuzu Adrama, also known as Killer, and Vipul Jetpur Vijay, alias Taruu, who have been mentioned in connection with the case.
