A true friend
Offers food, sunshine and flowers
To meet up all troubles of life
Despite the form in which they appear
The words of a true friend,
Though corny and simple?
Yet meet your needs halfway
Long before you open your lips to grumble
A genuine friend
Gives you a hand to face up to life
A swift eager hand outstretched in welcome
And grasp you firmly, as you take a dark bend
To walk down that unknown lane
You can have hundreds of acquaintances
But true friends are few?and far
Yet their ears and hands
Are always there when you need them
