Masara N’Arziki, an Association of industrial maize farmers initiated in 2005 by Wienco Ghana Limited to minimize and eliminate the supply deficit in the catchment areas, has come under some attacks lately.
Serious allegations have been brought against the company as regards its operations.
As regards the untruth and ill-fated claims against Masara N’Arziki Famers Association, the Association is there to support maize farmers to get more income through the use of improved technology that increases production of their farms.
It is a well known fact that, maize production has witnessed an increase because of the release of several hybrids and other synthetic varieties, but there is some deficits which farmers must make up for the shortage through imports.
Masara N’Arziki’s package consists of providing farmers with credit in kind in the form of hybrid maize seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, spraying equipment and innovative farm implements on credit. This they have done over the period. bringing smiles on the faces of farmers.
It also give technical advisory and training services programmes that introduce farmers to the most improved methods of maize production.
Since its inception, Masara N’Arziki has contributed positively through increased food production and income especially to the farmers in its operational areas.
Meanwhile, checks conducted into some allegations of ill prosecution of farmers by the Association revealed that these allegations are untrue.
