Hearts of Oak have clarified reports surrounding Phillip Boampong?s trip to the United States of America, saying he had their blessing to travel.
A publication in the state-owned Graphic Sports on Wednesday had suggested the defender had absconded to the States after receiving a US$ 20,000 signing fee.
But Hearts indicated they are aware of the whereabouts of the centre-back and squashed reports that the 23-year-old has swindled the club.

?We were aware during the signing of his contract that he had had an offer for a trial but we went through with the deal.
?If he is lucky and impresses, we as a club will benefit. If it doesn?t happen and he comes back, he is our player.

Boampong was making a return to the club after the expiration of a loan move at Saudi Premier League side Al-Shoalah.
He signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Hearts.
