According to reports, Omisore is wanted for his role in the infamous Ekitigate election scandal and an arrest warrant has been issued for the embattled former governorship candidate.

He was said to have received and misappropriated more than N700 million from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) in 2014 as he allegedly bribed Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh to assist in rigging the Ekiti State gubernatorial races.
According to EFCC, his election was foiled when whistle blower Captain Sagir Koli leaked the audio which ruined the group’s plans.
It was later learned that money was stolen by the then NSA Sambo Dasuki under the guise of national security funds and distributed to these plotters including Omisore, Musiliu Obanikoro, former Minister of Police Affairs Jelili Adesiyan, and current Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose.
“Instead of responding to the EFCC’s investigation Omisore had approached the Federal Capital Territory High Court for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights,” the EFCC said in a statement.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the ex-senator for his comment on the arrest warrant proved futile.
