The party says the ACN leader has no moral standing to condemn election rigging

The South West Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Saturday, berated the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and its leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, over Tinubu’s comments on election rigging.
A statement released by the PDP Zonal Publicity Secretary, Kayode Babade, said the ACN and Tinubu did not have the moral standing to comment on election rigging.
“Tinubu and ACN must first explain to Nigerians what happened to last year’s Local Council elections’ results in Lagos State which has not been made public up till now,” Babade said.
“It is obvious that the ACN and its leader do not have the moral rights of talking about what will happen in 2015 if elections are rigged. It has become imperative that we tell the hypocrites in the ACN to allow credible people who are directing the affairs of this country, especially as regard the conduct of elections, to do their jobs.”
The PDP spokesman said a “party that openly and scandalously rigged council elections in Lagos” cannot be the one to accuse PDP of rigging a presidential election in which it claimed to have even supported the PDP candidate against its own candidate.
He added that the Lagos Council polls experience was enough to show how elections in Nigeria would have been if the ACN was running the affairs of the country.
