Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, Thursday said the body of the late Liberian, Mr Patrick Sawyer, who died from the Ebola Virus in Lagos has been decontaminated and cremated.
Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, while speaking to journalists in Abuja stated this on the outcome of the inter ministerial committee on Ebola with Minister of Information, Labaran Maku.
Chukwu told journalists that the National Council of State also received reports on the issue and had given the order that state officials should be trained on issues around Ebola.
The minister explained that the body of Sawyer was cremated, adhering strictly to international protocol, and with the approval of the Liberian government. The ashes from the body, Chukwu observed, had been requested by his family, noting that the process for the transfer was on.
