The schools will be sited in the three senatorial districts of the state
The Chairman, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Femi Akinmoladun, on Thursday, said that the State Government has promised to build 10 additional mega primary schools in the three senatorial districts of the state.
Akinmoladun disclosed this while inspecting proposed sites for the schools in Bagbe, Ondo West Local Government Area, adding that the step was in fulfilment of Governor Olusegun Mimiko?s commitment to replace all dilapidated structures in public schools with modern ones.
He stated that no part of the state would be left out of the revolution currently taking place in the primary education sub-sector.
?Government will continue to build mega-schools till all our schools are completely transformed,? he said.
He noted that the state government had succeeded in bridging the education gap between the children of the rich and the poor, explaining that the present administration was driven by passion to provide free, quality and accessible education for every school-age child in rural and urban communities.
The SUBEB chairman said that the state government would continue to partner with relevant government agencies in its quest to return education to its lost glory in the state.
Akinmoladun urged residents of benefiting communities to cooperate with the contractors and the state government, to ensure that the projects are completed and delivered on schedule.
He added that five mega-primary schools had been completed, equipped and were ready for inauguration, while 28 others were currently at advanced stages of completion in the 18 local government areas of the state.
?The approval of additional 10 caring-heart mega-primary schools brings to 43 the number of mega primary schools in the state,? Akinmoladun said.
He urged the people to support the second term bid of Mimiko, to ensure that the projects are not abandoned.
He gave assurance that work would begin on the projects as soon as the award papers were perfected.
