Ondo State command has arrested seven suspects

Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, Ondo State command has arrested seven suspects that were allegedly dealing in and connected with an adulterated diesel totaling six thousand nine hundred (6,900) litres.

The suspects are: Moruf Olapade, Lawrence Olagunju, Nwanbueze Obinor, Austine Akwarandu, Joshua Orire, Akinbinmi Ayodele and Williams Wale.

The suspects Moruf Olapade, Lawrence Olagunju, Nwanbueze Obinor and Austine Akwarandu were arrested at Ominla along Okitipupa road, Ore at 11:30pm on 25th September in a Volvo Truck with registration number LSD 484 XA Lagos, containing 6000 litres of suspected adulterated automobile gasoline oil (AGO) while Joshua Orire, Akinbinmi Ayodele and Williams Wale were arrested at Irele around 8pm on 19th of September in an Honda accord car with Registration Number RH 235 KJA Lagos, containing 25 kegs of 30 litres each and three 50 litre kegs filled with suspected adulterated diesel which amounted to 900 litres.

Parading the suspects at the Command’s headquarters at Alagbaka, Akure, the state ondo capital, the State Commandant of the Corps, Andrew Igwe Ugwumba said the suspects were caught dealing in illegal petroleum product.

Ugwumba revealed that it’s one of the core mandates of the command to monitor adulteration and vandalization of pipeline in Nigeria.

He warned like minds dealing and perpetuating similar act in the state to desist adding that “his administration would do everything possible to rid  Ondo state of oil bunkering and other criminal activities” in the state.

The Suspects would be charge to court immediately the result of the sample of the product taken for laboratory analysis is out.
