Sports channel giants SuperSport yesterday presented two top quality Outdoor Broadcast (OB) Vans to the Global Village Group comprising Metro TV and Optimum Media Prime (OMP) at the offices of OMP at Ridge in Accra.

The facility, which won the best van for covering the 2009 U-17 World Cup  as the best technical set up, houses a remote channel for colour collection, vision mixer, cables and has different production angles of audio and video with graphics.

It also has two 65kg generators, cameras and accessories.

At the unveiling of the vans, Group chairman of Global Village Group, Talal Fattal, mentioned that the occasion serves as another step on his company?s journey to consistently enhance the value proposition of Ghana football in particular and sports in general.

He revealed his outfit decided to take  the plunge and invested heavily in the promotion of Ghana football on platforms like Metro TV, Super sport and GTV when many had little confidence in Ghana?s ability to build a viable football media business.

?As media right holders of Ghana Premier League, OMP has brought the local league live to many Ghanaians for the past four years.

?We have also made major contributions to boxing and a few other sports in Ghana. Our collaboration with Supersport has been very healthy, we thank supersport for the support,? said Fattal.

The country manager of Multi Choice Ghana Cecil Sunkwa-Mills pointed out that special arrangements have been made to train human resources to handle the facility in his outfit?s quest to enhance the coverage of Ghana football and sports in general.

President of Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi commended OMP highly for their contribution to the development of football in the country.

He described OMP as trail blazers, having carved a niche for themselves as the first to cover FA Cup and Division One Middle league matches live.

?Your commitment to football is total. The equipment will make our screens livelier, clearer, more exciting as well as enhance the production of sports. With OMP, we shall raise the standard of football coverage in the country,? Nyantakyi.

He pledged the FA?s support for OMP.
