Ojo Boat Disaster: Three Reported Missing

Mr Ibrahim Farinloye of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has disclosed that ten people were in the reported capsized boat that occurred earlier today but three of them are still missing.

Giving the situational report of the capsized boat, Farinloye said, he got the information from a friend of one of the rescued.

“One Rahim Taiwo Ishola is one of the three missing. He said that they were coming from Coconut area to Ojo before the incident occurred in the night. Therefore, we are still looking for 3 more bodies.

“Team of Navy Special Boat Service, NEMA,  National Inland WaterWays Agency (NIWA) and Police Disaster Unit are to continue the search. There have been conflicting reports of the figures of people in the boat from three to seven but they are ten.”

Farinloye added that, “seven of the rescued are in their houses after the first aid treatment and they are hale and hearty.”
