?Otiko plans to from resign position

Irene Naa Torshie Addo
The Women Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), last week Thursday, threatened to resign her position, after it became clear to her that Nana Akufo-Addo and his men, who have taken over the party, will not allow her to run her office to the best of her ability.
Otiko Afisah-Djabah, was later forced to kneel down like a kindergarten kid, in the presence of NPP flagbearer and his supporters, and said sorry for issuing the audacious threat to resign her position as the women organizer.
She rendered the apology to Nana Akufo-Addo and his supporters, while weeping like a baby girl, as a result of the massive insults hipped on her by loyalists of the flagbearer.
At the chaotic meeting, Irene Naa Torshie Addo, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema West Constituency in Greater Accra Region, was heckled and embarrassed by Nana Addo?s supporters for proposing a female, should be considered for the position of Second National Vice ?Chairman to make room for gender balance in the National Executive.
From the word go, it was clear that Nana Addo and his supporters, were not ready to listen to anyone, but themselves. They short down every appointment that General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong and National Chairman, Paul Afoko had made ahead of the meeting.
Indeed, insiders have told The Herald that event of last Thursday, amply demonstrated the disunity in the NPP going into the 2016 election. They were emphatic victory will once again elude the NPP.
Prior to Otiko Afisah-Djabah?s apology, she was threatened by an official of the party from Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, who was in the meeting for daring to insist on having particular Deputy Women Organisers to work with.
The Herald sources at the meeting held at Alisa Hotel, North Ridge -Accra, described the meeting as very chaotic with the elected party officials, such as General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong and National Chairman, Paul Afoko boxed into a corner, while Nana Addo and his men, controlled affairs.
Otiko Afisah-Djabah, had put forward two names for consideration as her deputies.

Otiko Afisah-Djabah
Barely, had she finished her submission, when she was jumped upon by supporters of Nana Akufo-Addo with the names literally shredded.
Confusion broke out leading to heated verbal exchanges. It was during this that Otiko Afisah-Djabah, openly threatened to resign from her National Executive position, if not allowed to have the two ladies as her deputies.
The threat infuriated Nana Akufo-Addo and his supporters, who openly told her to resign for all they care.
She was pushed to render an apology to Nana Akufo-Addo and his supporters, if she wanted to remain at the meeting and the party for that matter.
Things got worse and a weeping Otiko Afisah-Djabah, who is already mistrusted by NPP element as a result of her family ties with President John Dramani Mahama, was forced to go down on her knees to render an unqualify to Nana Addo for the threat she issued.
Surprisingly, Nana Addo, allowed her to have one of the personalities she had put before the gathering for consideration.
In the case of Irene Naa Torshie Addo, The Herald was told that she strongly lamented over the gender imbalance in the NPP National Executive, and pushed for a female as the Second Vice-National Chairman to deputize Mr. Freddie Blay.
Irene Naa Torshie Addo, who is a lawyer, was of the firm belief that apart from Otiko Afisah-Djabah, who is the Women Organiser in the NPP National Executives, all other positions are occupied by men. But the Tema West MP, had the rudest shock of her life, when loyalists of Nana Addo, heavily descended on her for making the proposal.
An embarrassed, Irene Naa Torshie Addo, sat down also in tears, but not after angrily stating her distaste for the new direction of the NPP.
The same meeting, also shot down the name of Pius Hadzide and Michael Ampong as NPP Deputy Communication Directors, because Nana Addo and his men don?t like them, especially having being proposed by the National Executives, particularly, Kwabena Agyapong.
In their place, Nana Akomea and Perry Okudzeto, were endorsed for Communications Director and Deputy Communications Director, respectively. Mr. Okudzeto, had earlier been sacked from the NPP headquarters by the National executives.
Ex-NPP Volta Regional Chairman and Deputy Local Government Minister and onetime NADMO Volta Regional boss under President John Kufuor, Kenwuud Nworsu, was also rejected by Nana Addo and his men for the position of Deputy General Secretary, which is by appointment in the NPP.
