American actress Nia Long has gone to court seeking protection from a woman she alleges has been stalking her at her Los Angeles home for more than two years, under the belief that the two share a romantic relationship.

Long filed for a temporary restraining order on Monday, March 23, against a woman identified as Carrie McDonald. In court documents obtained by TMZ, Long describes McDonald as a stalker, stating that she does not know the woman but alleges she has subjected her to more than two years of unwanted contact, including sending cards, flowers and gifts, and appearing at her home on multiple occasions.

Long says McDonald showed up at her home on Saturday, March 21, and rang her doorbell. Police were called and McDonald was arrested. It was not the first incident. Long states in the filing that the same woman had previously appeared at her home in the middle of the night in 2024, demanding she open the door. Officers issued McDonald a strong warning on that occasion before arresting her when she returned.

Long requested court-ordered protection covering herself, her two children and her mother. However, a judge denied the temporary restraining order and scheduled a hearing in April to further review the matter, at which point a longer-term order may be considered based on the evidence presented.

McDonald has not publicly responded to the allegations. The case will return before a judge next month.
