Joseph Yammin, Incoming Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister
Ahead of the 2016 official campaign season, Spy News Agency has gathered that the active campaign machinery of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been ignited at the grassroots level in some key areas of the Ashanti Region.
Supporters of the party have started going from house to house and door to door selling their message of ?A Bettter Ghana?.
The youth wing in the party headed by the outgoing Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Joseph Yammin have started underground ? door-to-door? campaign which won them power in 2004 and 2012.
The NDC has predicted and plans to garner over 15 million votes in the Ashanti Region and many believe this is the main reason Hon. Yammin has been re-assigned to the region as deputy Regional Minister to champion the agenda.
Meanwhile, a political scientist, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Political Science Department has urged the opposition NPP to close ranks in unity so they can win power from the NDC in the 2016 general elections.
