The committee is expected, among other things, to communicate government’s developmental efforts to the understanding of the grassroots in a manner that would convince them to vote for the party.
Mr Solomon Nkansah, the NDC National Communication Director, urged the 11-member committee to exhibit self-discipline as party activists in order to win the confidence of the people.
He pleaded with the members to study the Green Book well to understand and be knowledgeable about Government’s programmes to improve the quality of life of the people.
Mr Nkansah said it was only through effective and efficient communication that the people would come to appreciate the effort of government and, therefore, be willing to endorse it for a second term.
Mr Joshua Amidu Akamba, the NDC Deputy National Organiser, said the parliamentary primaries were over and there was the need to forgive each other.
He urged all NDC supporters to love the party and not individuals, adding: “it is only when you love the party that you will forgive an individual’s mistake for the love of the party.”
“One thing that disturbs me a lot is when people find it difficult to forgive each other, such an action is not a demonstration of love for a party you claim to love,” Mr Akamba said.
Hajia Zeinab Joyce Mahama, the National Women’s Organiser, lauded the Member of Parliament for the area and the Government for ensuring that Sissala West got its fair share of the national cake.
“This is evidenced from the number of appointees this region benefited from under the current government,” she said.
Mr Ceza Kale, a Presidential Staffer, said the election was not just about presenting candidates but candidates with lots of experience.
He appealed to the committee to work hard to market their candidates before the elections.
Alhaji Sulemana, the Upper West Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Sissala West Constituency, appealed to the people to be patient with the Government as it would work to improve on the living conditions of the people.
“Based on the evidence in the Green Book, President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC deserve a second term and should be granted that opportunity by Ghanaians,” he said.
Mr Abu Kabiebata Kansangbata, former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, pleaded against skirt and blouse voting saying such would not bring development to the constituency.
