NANS commends ASUU
• Commiserates with IGP

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), for calling off the strike it embarked on since December 4 last year.

In a statement signed by the national President of NANS, Adakole Ochai, and made available to Daily Sun in Abuja, NANS said it sincerely appreciates the leadership of ASUU for their magnanimity which has propelled them into calling off the strike which they embarked upon for the interest of our future and the development of the nation’s academic sector.

The student body also urged all Nigerian students to shun all forms of violence and social vices and remain focus with their academics.
Similarly, NANS expressed its sincere condolence to the acting Inspector-General (IG) of Police, Muhammed Abubakar, over the death of his wife, praying that her soul rest in peace and that God would grant Abubakar, the fortitude to bear the loss.

While expressing its appreciation to the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Ali Gulak, for his wisdom and efforts, as well as his strong commitment towards the stability of the polity, the NANS further commended Gulak for his passion towards making the transformation agenda of Mr. president a success.
The NANS also expressed its profound gratitude to President Goodluck Jonathan for his resolve towards making Nigeria great, as well as his outstanding leadership attributes.
