Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a leading contender in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate race, is reported to have nearly fallen flat on his face when he visited the Volta Region on Monday, 25th August, 2014, as part of his campaign tour.
Reminiscent of his fall in December 2012 whilst on a similar political event, the last episode which this time cannot be blamed on a faulty stage, like it was in the first happening, was conspicuously left out of the glowing two paged report which made the centre spread of today’s New Statesman – his newspaper.
Eye witnesses who claimed to have seen a dazed Nana Addo caught just in time by two of those flanking him at that instance when he lost his stamina, and was clearly falling over, could only speculate that the sad event was likely health related.
Nana Akufo-Addo, who had gone to meet the party’s constituency executives in the Volta Region, has had his health status called to question several times, especially, in the latest intra-party contest. He has maintained though that he is fit spiritually, mentally and physically.
Whilst his communicators have so far done a great job killing any and every discussion on their candidates ailing health, by labelling any talk of the kind as a vile attack on his personality, the latest event has caused the matter to resurface.
