Although Namibia ratified the agreement in Aug. 2016 after signing as a bloc together with Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, and South Africa, it is yet to gazette it.

Finance minister Calle Schlettwein, who attended a media briefing Thursday called for by the European Union Ambassador to Namibia, said the new tariffs will be gazetted next month.

Until the new tariffs are gazetted, he said, the old ones will be in force.
