Addressing thousands of people who attended the event in the capital Windhoek, Geingob urged Namibians to celebrate diversity without division.

The war on poverty, he said, runs concurrently with that on corruption and as such those who see corruption being committed should report it.
Geingob further said his Harambee Prosperity Plan that will be officially implemented on April 1, 2016, is meant to tackle poverty through “national identity and unity”.
“The Harambee Prosperity Plan is built on the pillars of effective governance, economic, social and infrastructure development, and seeks to build on the progress that we have made to date,” he said.
He said while Namibia’s GDP was 5.5 billion Namibian dollars (36 million U.S. dollars) in 1990, it has since grown to 166 billion Namibian dollars (about 11 billion U.S. dollars).
Geingob also said in 1990, per capita GDP was only 2, 425 Namibian dollars (about 162 U.S dollars), but hit 63,000 Namibian dollars (about 4,200 U.S. dollars) in 2014. Enditem
