Parliament has finally passed the communication service tax amendment bill.
Government is seeking to slap some taxes on telecom services.
It includes a 20 percent tax on imported handsets.
The MPs however exempted the tax on international calls and mobile data.
The bill was withdrawn from parliament last week for further consultations.
The decision to exempt the tax on international calls and mobile data from the bill is not known after the decision was heavily criticized by the opposition NPP and the general public.
