The Minister of Trade and Industry, Madam Hannah Tetteh, who served as the 2008 head of communications for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign team has pledged her unflinching support for the 2012 campaign team to keep the NDC in power for a second term.

To this end, she has disclosed her intention to contribute her quota and be part of the 2012 campaign team.

She therefore noted that every rank and file of the party is expected to be part of this move, for the party to remain in power after the December 2012 polls.

Speaking on Breakfast XYZ yesterday, Madam Hannah Tetteh said that she will do her maximum best to ensure that the NDC wins the 2012 elections. “I will be more than happy to be part of this year’s campaign team regardless of whatever role that would be assigned to me.”

She mentioned that for the first three years of President Mills’ administration, the government has done its best to streamline a lot of things that went wrong in ex-president Kufuor’s administration.

“As far as management of the economy is concerned, we have created a framework that will allow the oil & gas to be appreciated and declaring its revenue in a transparent manner. We have also introduced a number of economic policies that have begun and will continue to have impact on Ghanaians,” she noted.

Madam Hannah Tetteh further indicated that the NDC being a human institution may have encountered some difficulties in its three to four years in office; that notwithstanding, it has done enough to demonstrate to Ghanaians that President Mills does have the best interest of the country at heart.

“There may be some incidence that went horribly wrong, but we dealt with it.”

She added that president Mills has charged his ministers to put in place policies and programmes to deal with major challenges that were created by the former administration adding that, “When we came into office we realized there were lots of unanswered questions as far as the public was concerned, which didn’t allow us to take off as anticipated, but we have created structures that would enable majority of Ghanaians to achieve their goals and ambitions in life.”

The Trade Minister again said that the economy and most especially Ghanaians have experienced real change under the 3-4 years of president Mills’ administration compared to the eight years of ex-president Kufuor’s administration.
