A Malaysian navy combat vessel has gone missing in Borneo en route to an island outpost off the coast of Sabah, the country’s naval chief said Monday.
The boat, with seven officers on board, had requested to return to base due to bad weather, according to Abdul Aziz Jaafar.
The CB90H attack boat made last contact with base Sunday in the vicinity of Mengalum Island off Sabah, about 3,650 kilometres east of Kuala Lumpur.
Six ships and one aircraft are involved in the search, which was being hampered by bad weather in the area.
