Majeed Waris cannot play for Lorient against Monaco

Lorient manager Sylvain Ripoll has been forced to leave out Ghana forward Majeed Waris from his squad for their crucial Ligue 1 clash with AS Monaco on Sunday.

The 24-year-old trained on Friday and was expected be to fit for the crucial game but Lorient medical director has asked the striker be rested as precautionary measure.

The Ghana international scored the second goal for Lorient in their 2-2 stalemate with Stade Rennes last week but was forced off the pitch before the start of the game.

The goal, his fifth for the season, was instrumental in securing the point for Lorient but now the Oranges must face Monaco without his influence in attack.

Below is the Lorient squad for the game.

Lecomte, Chaigneau – Gassama, Paye, Koné, Touré, Karamoko, Bellugou, Guerreiro, Le Goff – Barthelmé, Fofana, Mesloub, Ndong, Abdullah, Jouffre, Philippoteaux, Lavigne – Jeannot.
