Says adaptation to new tactics will speed up football development in Nigeria
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, has challenged football administrators and managers in the country to learn and apply themselves to new methods, tactics and strategies of administration which will aid rapid development of the game in Nigeria.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the FIFA WIAWA Administration and Management Course on Tuesday, Maigari also pledged that his administration will continue to pursue the cause of improving Nigeria football at all levels, whether in the areas of coaching, refereeing, administration or welfare of players and officials.
?The actualisation of this programme is derived from the determination of the present NFF administration to positively affect all areas of the Nigerian game, and to enact new standards that would, sooner rather than later, take Nigerian football to higher heights in the game?s firmament,? he said.
?This high-level course is not a picnic. It has been designed for our football administrators and managers to gain tremendously from classroom and practical sessions, and go back to their respective bases to impact positively on how things are run. Better still, they are to turn around the running of the clubs for the better.?
The NFF boss charged participants in the programme to use the opportunity for self-improvement, saying it would help fast track the actualisation of the Glass House vision ?of making a brand of the NFF that corporate organisations and multi-national companies will fall over themselves to associate with.?
FIFA Instructor, Brendon Menton, who applauded the attitude of the participants, emphasised that a strong cordial relationship between the NFF and the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) and strong Premier League clubs is essential for rapid development of the game.
The course, which classroom sessions are taking place at the Ekiti Hall of NICON Luxury Hotel and practical sessions at the FIFA Technical Centre, National Stadium, Abuja, will end on Saturday.
