Asante Kotoko’s defender, Rahim Ayew has revealed that players on the local scene are hypocrites.
He made this revelation on metro tv’s sports file show on wednesday evening.
According to him,after a concerted effort by players to approach management with their problems and issues they dislike,some(players) withdraw their support because of some favours they want from the management.
He said this attitude by players is the reason why players on the local scene are paid pittance for their services.
“Players on the local scene are hypocrites. This is because when we agree to approach management to make our problems known,the same players who reached consensus are the same ones who will be displaying cold feet. These players will rather go and see management to exempt themselves from those who came to make their views known.”
He observed that the low wages given to players is the reason for the low standard of the local league and called on football people to invest in local football or cut down the number of teams to those who can afford to pay their players very well.
