As mark of respect for Dana crash victims

The Lagos State Government has announced one week of mourning and cancelled all official engagements.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lateef Ibirogba, described the decision as a mark of respect for the victims of Sunday’s plane crash in Lagos.

Over 150 persons lost their lives when a Dana Air aircraft crashed into a residential neighbourhood, killing some residents and all passengers on board.

He expressed the state government’s condolences to people who lost relatives and loved ones in the crash, along with the management of Dana Air, which also lost its crew members.

According to Ibirogba, the cancellation will affect all scheduled state programmes for the week.

He added that the ones that can be rescheduled will be held after the week of mourning.
