The Centre for National Affairs (CNA) has filed a fresh suit at the Supreme Court seeking to place a perpetual injunction on the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor, for ?allegedly faking an assassination story.?
The civil society organisation is praying the court in suit no. J1/17/2012 to order the senior minister to step aside ?with immediate effect? before both parties contest another case in which the CNA is claiming, Dr Kunbuor staged an assassination plot on himself in 2010.
The centre argued in its statement of claim that ?after studying a Criminal Investigations Department?s report on the assassination case, it is obvious that Dr Kunbuor has been indicted since the report pointed out that the shooting was done ?from the inside of the exhibit car.?
A senior policy analyst of the CNA, Rocky Obeng, told Citifmonline.com that they have enough grounds to pray the court to grant their plea. ?Dr. Kunbuor must stop operating as Attorney General because he has been indicted,? he said.
?He should have the same right and opportunity to stand as a citizen to fight the case in court. He has to be relieved of his post to ensure a smooth process.?
