The project is very necessary and dear to the hearts of the association because the school has grown in its intake numbering over 2000 which puts a burden on the dinning hall which has served the purpose of both dinning and assembly hall all these years not forgetting other gatherings like entertainment, symposiums, and conferences.

Recently it was misreported in the dailies that Koforidua Sectech students dine in the open under unfriendly weather, all these give the association reason to stand up and be counted for their alma mata.

In an interview with the headmaster, he expressed profound joy about this multi purpose assembly hall project- MPAH and numerous challenges it will curtail not forgetting the aesthetic looks it will add to the school. He is indeed excited for his school to have the bragging rights among his fellow headmasters as the one heading a school arguably with the biggest assembly hall in the Western Africa zone.

The President of the association Scofray Nana Yaw Yeboah bemoaned that for the sheer lack of an assembly hall got the school graded in category “B” and a school with the sole cliche ” Easter varsity” cannot be in that category. To show their mettle they have raised the bar of how big assembly hall looks in other supposed grade “A” school.

He went ahead to say that MPAH comes with offices, enough washing rooms, store rooms, few executive suites and a car park that can contain 250 cars coupled with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems and design. The architectural design is a sight to behold, it epitomizes Sectech as the cradle of secondary technical school education in West Africa.

He equally express his excitement about the 20 League of technical men for example Ing Jonathan Nana Kwaku Amoako-Baah Technical Director VRA, Moses Honu CEO of Diagonal Project Africa the company behind almost all the big malls in Ghana, Prof Alfred Gand Civil engineering lecturer Coventry University UK, Adamu Mohammad AECOM UK, Frank Osei Boakye Project architect, etc who are all accomplished in their various engineering field and putting their expertise to use in building this mammoth project for their alma mata at no cost.

The entire project initially was pegged at $900,000 but considering modifications and the state of the art lighting and sound it would be around $1.2 million. Currently at the substructure level the association have spent about $55,000 out of an estimated cost of $130,000.

They are making a clarion call on corporate bodies and philanthropists to come to their aid to make the project ready for commission during the 50th anniversary celebration in 2017. They are calling all old students both home and abroad to rise up and be counted as true Mmarima Mma by contributing their widow’s mite.

The President wish to seize the opportunity to say thank you to all those who have made contributions both in cash and materials so far, but he said Oliver ask for more, the contributions is not over until it is commissioned in 2017. He is calling for all Mmarima Mma hands on deck to exemplify their school motto ” Educate for Service”.
