
The Kano State Task Force Committee on Fake and Counterfeit Drugs on Tuesday shutdown six unregistered pharmaceutical stores in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Health, Alhaji Isma?il Gwammaja, in Kano.
It said the closure was due to illegal operations carried out by the stores as they were doing business without certification.
The pharmaceutical stores include; Gabari Pharmacy at Kofar Mata in Kano Municipal; Kunya Pharmacy at Tudun Bojuwa in Fage Local Government Area; and Sahima Pharmacy at Court Road in Tarauni Local Government Area.
Others are, A.C Liliya also located at Court Road; Darussalam Pharmacy at Gyadi-Gyadi; and Country Mall Pharmacy, Farm Centre, all located in Tarauni Local Government Area.
The release said the Acting Chairman of the committee, Ghali Sule, said that the body would continue to check unregistered pharmacies in the state.
Sule urged all pharmaceutical stores that were yet to register to do so in their own interest.
