The Imo State House of Assembly, has condemned in strong terms, rumours making the round on social media that juju scare, Thursday interrupted the business of the members and workers at the new Assembly Complex in Owerri.
The Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the speaker, Mr. Emeka Ahaneku, while condemning the rumour, advised workers at the Assembly complex to go about their lawful businesses, as no juju incident took place to the point of disrupting the activities of the Assembly.
According to Mr. Ahaneku, normal activities of the House were conducted in a peaceful manner devoid of any hitch, as the assembly members successfully had their executive session, sat and adjourned to enable them interface with the Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc. and the State Commissioner of Finance, Dr. Chike Okafor on the financial status of the State as earlier scheduled last week.
He wondered why anybody could take delight in misinforming members of the public with a view to creating disharmony and unnecessary tension among members of the House, stressing that such rumour only exist in the wildest imaginations of their peddlers and sponsors.
He however, advised House of Assembly Correspondents to strive to live above board while discharging their responsibilities through investigative reporting and warned them against being used to undermine the current peace in the state House of Assembly.
