The only independent Presidential Aspirant, Jacob Osei Yeboah (a.k.a JOY2012) as part of his visit to the three northern regions of Ghana paid a courtesy call on the two gates of the Dagbon Royals, the Abudus and Andanis at Yendi.
JOY stated that his visit to the northern region would have been meaningless if he fails to pay a courtesy call on the two gates and to share and to encourage them to continue with the path of peace initiated with the Catholic Bishop of Yendi. He shared the joy he had when he heard on Peace FM 104.3MHz and later read on Peace website on 19 July, 2011 that the two gates have come to the realisation of their common enemy, which is the political rhetoric from Politicians.
Mr. Jacob Osei Yeboah firstly met with the Andanis ?and intimated that as a Royal himself from Kokofu in the Ashanti region, he knows that most chieftaincy disputes are fuelled by ?politicians and that the whole Ashanti Kingdom led by his Royal highness, Otumfo Osei Tutu II bleeds in the heart continually in endurance awaiting for a lasting peaceful co-existence. He appeals to them that peace can only be achieved firstly with forgiveness and then understanding to give hope to the future generations for development. He stated ?our hurts must circumspectly give birth to hope to shine in a brood darkness of hopelessness so that life will become more meaningful for development?.? JOY further stated that he is not in Dagbon for votes but a hearty thought towards a lasting peace between two brothers.He suggested his solution to the crisis is to built a befitting district hospital and a school in honour of past hurts in the Dagbon traditional area. He stated, the ancestors of the two gates will be more pleased when the gates move forward for development.
The Reagent of Dagbon, Naa Abdulai, thank God for such words as coming from a politician. He hopes that politicians should advice their youth followers desist from acts of violence. He noted that the destabilisations in the West Africa sub region are mostly caused by the youth who are influenced by politicians. Naa Abdulai thanked JOY for including a well thought part of the crisis in his book entitled ?The Next President of Ghana? and hopes that peace will soon prevail when such well-meaning hearts rule the nation.
The JOY2012 campaign team afterwards visited the Abudus gate where he was equally received by a bigger crowd who followed from the Andani gate. Jacob Osei Yeboah, the presidential hopeful stated that, ?I chose difficult path of Independent Presidential System because I would like to unite Ghana for peace so we can accelerate our development?.? He further stated, ?I?ve equally chewed the cola given to me by the two gates respectively to indicate that through JOY 2012 government will be a unifying factor for the two gates for development?.
JOY2012 reiterated his earlier message and peace path to the Abudus as well and noted that, the same politicians who say chiefs should not be part of politics do however during campaigns pay courtesy calls on chiefs and wonders if that is also not politics. He mentioned his deepest reservation about the recent law passed by Parliament which undermines the authority of chiefs to summon anyone to the palace. Jacob Osei Yeboah stated that one of his missions is to restore dignity and respect which partisan politics is corrupting in the Ghanaian society in the 4thRepublic.
The elder of Moi Naa, of the Abudus in an adage indicated that, if you are going to ask for a water and you realise that? the person is your mother, what do you do, he quizzed. He therefore pray to Allah to continue to give wisdom to the Independent Presidential Aspirant to continue in his humility and courage and wish him well for Ghana so that there may be peace everywhere.
The JOY2012 campaign team continue to Bimbilla enroute to the Volta region where it is expected that a lot of programmes lined up for the team. The symbol of the Independent Presidential Aspirant, the Baobab tree resonates very well with most villages because of the mystics surrounding its useful to society.
