JAVSALYNN Foundation, an NGO specialized in the award of scholarships to Ghanaian students to pursue undergraduate and post graduate studies abroad has re-launched its operations in Ghana.
This followed a cessation of operation since 2005, when its works was stalled due to severe machinations from some political figures at the time.
The Foundation, which was incorporated and certified to commence business on 13th?January 2000, had its operations suddenly halted when investigations into its activities was launched, with frivolous allegations that managers of the foundation said had no merit.
Speaking at a ceremony to re-launch the foundation, the Director of JAVSALYNN Foundation, Mr Gideon Aryeequaye stated that whiles the foundation was at its peak of delivering on its core objectives, impediments were created by some persons and their political collaborators in the ex-President Kufuor government to ensure Javsalynn never functions.
He said, as part of the ploy, the President and Founder of JAVSALYNN Foundation, Mr. SammuelAddy had to face serious investigations from the security services, and later tried for defrauding by force pretense which the court later found out to be false.
According to one time news anchor on Etv, the court later exonerated Mr. Addy and Javsalynn from all the charges, as students and beneficiaries came to accept the fact that lots of them do not understand the processes at the time and hence fell victims to the machinations against the foundation.
?It has also been established that, since the foundation deals with foreign institutions and examinations it arranged with the West African Examinations Council to administer the examinations, and applicants were aware of the forms, interviews and processing fess which were not refundable before starting the search and placement process, this made the process transparent and nothing fraudulent happened as it was alleged,? he added.
According to Mr.Aryeequaye, because of the machinations from some political figures at the time, most people and institutions with affiliation to the foundation withdrew their support making the foundation redundant.
The re-launch of the foundation, Mr.Aryeequaye said is a great opportunity and welcoming news for Ghanaians students and parents who would want their wards to study abroad in tertiary institutions.
In a keynote address, Ras Mubarak, the National Coordinator of the National Youth Authority, stated that the NDC government remains focus, passionate and committed to creating opportunities for the youth, saying this would be achieved through the delivery of quality education.
?For us to move forward there must be real process, and government alone cannot champion that process, it demands the support of all,? he said.
Ras Mubarak also mentioned that it is about time government re-focuses its attention on the many challenges facing the youth as regards education and employment, adding that the development of any nation depends on how educated and innovative its youth are to champion the development agenda.
He commended JAVSALYNN Foundation for the re-launch asking the leadership to work assiduously to address some of the educational shortfalls in the country.
